In addition to the promotion of sport practice, Clube Pelicas São Silvestre da Pequenada aims to seed the spirit of solidarity in all participants. This year, the registration fees will go straight to the Centro Sagrada Família social solidarity institution.
The Centro Sagrada Família is one of the three Centers of the Social Work Foundation of the Irish Dominican Sisters, based in Algés and recognized as a Private Institution of Social Solidarity (IPSS) since 1993.
Its two main areas are the educational area (nursery, from 4 to 36 months, preschool, from 3 to 5 years, and holiday camp from 6 to 13 years) and community support area, with the Project "Families with Soul", which encompasses two intervention areas: contribute for the inclusion and training (Food Bank, Social Canteen and Vocational Training) and reduce isolation (Open Room, Senior Academy and Volunteering/Social Responsibility).
