The El Corte Inglés São Silvestre de Lisboa will have starts by time, restricted access and according to the performance of the athletes in a 10K race in the last year.
Check which starting block fits you and what you should do to be in this start area:
If you haven't run a HMS Sports race within the last year, you'll be automatically registered in +60 minutes.
Elite B, Sub45, Sub50 and Sub60 blocks are not freely selectable in the register form. They have restricted access and require to be analyzed by the organization.
In order to take advantage of the various starts, it is mandatory to present a time record that respects the time requirement of each starting block achieved in a 10K race in the last year.
The time record must be sent to info@saosilvestredelisboa.com, with the dorsal number and name of the athlete, until December 2nd, 2018. All time record sent after this date will not be considered.
In order for all participants to enjoy El Corte Inglés São Silvestre de Lisboa to the maximum, the organization will split the start into three waves:
All athletes must be aligned at the starting line, obligatorily, until 5:30 pm, according to their starting block. After this time the access doors to the blocks will be closed.
Those who arrive after this time should start at block +60, the only one whose entrance will remain open.
The chip timing system will only be activated when the athlete passes the starting line. As such, the fact of leaving the second or third places does not imply a penalty in the running time. The final results will be ordered according to the official time, but we will also make the chip time available.
On the day of the event, the organization offers a cloakroom service in the Praça do Rossio. All you have to do is present your race bib to enjoy this service, between 4.00pm and 8pm.

The top 3 overall male and female runners who finnish the El Corte Inglés São Silvestre de Lisboa race will be awarded with trophies (only the general classification will be taken into account).
The male and female winners of the Cofidis – Campeões do Último Quilómetro - will receive an awesome weekend in one of the most luxurious hotels in Portugal. The prize includes two nights with breakfast, for two people.
The athlete ranked in the 111th position, based on absolute rating, will receive a Garmin watch with GPS and integrated pulse meter Forerunner 645. The announcement of the winner will be made on Facebook and Instagram of El Corte São Silvestre de Lisboa after the final results. The winner will be contacted by the organization to receive the prize.
A healthy and one of a kind competition between top athletes - it's guaranteed fun for them and for the audience.
After ten editions, there is a draw: five women's triumphs and five men's wins.
In the 2019 edition, women's elite athletes will start 4’00” ahead of the men's elite (the 4’00” match the time difference between the first man and the first woman to finnish the race in 2018).
